We headed up to Sun Valley Idaho at the end of January. It is a cross country skiing mecca with 200km of groomed ski trails!

Here's Chris at the start of the Boulder Mountain Tour ski race that goes 32km down a beautiful valley. Conditions were perfect! Sharon entered the half Boulder race so she was able to get in on the action too.

We visited the Aspen area for a weekend in February. Sharon and her friend Alexa skied up to Maroon Lake.

Chris took on the Owl Creek Chase ski race which goes from Snowmass to Aspen in 21km. A very challenging and hilly route.

In March, we checked out Santa Fe and Taos in northern New Mexico. In Santa Fe, here is the oldest church in the US. San Miguel Mission from the early 1600s

First week in April was the Platte River Half Marathon. Sharon, Alexa, Chris, and Courtney. Alexa did the whole race and everyone else formed a strong relay team.

In April, Mark joined us as we checked out Capitol Reef National Park in Utah.

 

We backpacked into Lower Muley Twist Canyon on a perfect day.

There were 4 very large alcoves carved out in bends in the canyon. Like a dome!

After our night backpacking, the next day we day hiked into Upper Muley Twist. Here's a great slot canyon.

 

The geology was very interesting and varied. Here are some cool blobs of sandstone.
