When we got to Montana our first stop was Pompey's Pillars National Monument. This was a camp site during the Lewis and Clark expedition.

And the only remaining evidence from that 3 year adventure. Captain Clark chisled his name on a rock here.

We got in some skiing at Big Sky resort

Then we took a tour into Yellowstone National Park via snowcoach. The roads are not plowed in the winter. We took the coach 32 miles into Old Faithful

We took a couple mile ski through the upper geyser basin. 

The aptly named Morning Glory Pool. 

 

Fountain Geyser was going off too. 

In West Yellowstone there is an excellent nordic trail system. 

Just before checking myself into the Powderholics Anonymous. Big dump at Targhee ski area on the west side of the Tetons. 

The trail beckons. Atleast until some bears were spotted and I got the heck out of there!
