Earth Day 2016 provided an excellent moonset sunrise to behold!. 

A backpacking trip into Ice Lake Basin in Colorado's San Juan Mountains had some scenery overload.

It is a great place for photographers to go and do their thing. 

Chris also bagged some peaks over the summer. This one is a rough climb up to Crestone Needle in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.  

In August the Maroon Bells - Snowmass Wilderness beckoned for a 5 day jaunt. Here is pretty Snowmass Lake after an overnight hail storm.

This year Sharon and her Colorado Girlz relay team did the Wild West Relay from Ft. Collins to Steamboat in northern Colorado.

Everyone had an excellent time and they can't wait to do the next one! 

Autumn was a good one. This is up on top of Kebler Pass which is said to have one of the largest aspen forests anywhere. It did not dissapoint. 

 

Ahhhh! 

In late October we checked out the Moab, Utah area. A nice hike to Corona Arch had blue bird skies. 

We hit Delicate Arch in Arches National Park for sunset and it was a doozy. 

But this time the goal was to check it out with the Milky Way which was astounding! Sharon is the little alien here. 

The next day was up in the Island in the Sky district of Canyonlands National Park. Here is Mesa Arch. 

We did a short backpack to camp on the rim and it had very expansive views. 

Not to mention some great dark skies to make you feel tiny.
