CANADIAN ROCKIES
In August we were joined by my nephew Paul and his girlfriend Chrissy for a visit to Banff and a backpacking trip in Mt. Robson Provincial Park. We'd been through there a couple years ago and it desevered some more exploring. The Ice Fields Parkway from Banff to Jasper is such a spectacular route, it is one that you can always drive again. And a 4 day backpack into Berg Lake at the base of towing Mt. Robson is one of the most epic spots on the continent.
On the first day we headed up the gondola at Sunshine Village near Banff Townsite to get in a hight altitude hike.

After 2 days we made it to Berg Lake. British Columbia was having a bad fire season and our views were very limited. Just a glimpse of the peak at Berg Glacier.

The peak is the highest in the Canadian Rockies at about 13000ft. And much more prominance than the peaks in Colorado.
